UF Identifier: UFID

In 2003 the University of Florida replaced the use of social security numbers as a person’s primary identification number with a UF identification number (UFID). Your UFID is assigned to you by the university, and becomes the identifier for all transactions and services where personally identifiable information (PII) is required.

In creating the UFID and related identity management information, UF embarked on a significant advancement to protect the personal information of the university community. Using your UFID helps protect you from identity theft, and protects UF from potential data and records theft that could expose personal information of students, faculty, and staff.

The University of Florida takes protecting your identity very seriously, and has strong programs and policies in place to protect your information from unauthorized access.
